Need Some Comments

Hello. I’ve been asked to do an advertising image for a magazine. The person is inviting people to join a contest, and he wanted me to do a picture for him. So please tell me what you think before I show it to him. Maybe I should fix something up. Thank you.

I don't like this at all. The background is horrible and it's all streched which is making it blurred. The text just pops out and doesn't fit in. Try http://good-tutorials.com for some tutorials.

The ad itself gives no information. Readers are forced to visit the URL, of which not many will even bother to do.

those are both awful typefaces too. what's the contest about? that has to show through in this. right now, it looks like a contest for tomtoe rings.

How do you get your "clients?"
i mean..
It doesn't look verry good, and i don't see the relation between "world of the rings" and a picture of a pepper in a ring..
Maybe change the pepper with "the world"?
and put some more effort in choosing your typography.

Looks more like a tomato, but never mind

i don't like the font used it either of them. The second one is an improvement on the first.

If I read correctly, it seems to me that he was hired to create this ad that will be used in a magazine for a contest his client is holding? Not that he is entering the contest himself?
