  Old  Domain name transfer

Hi there,

Is it possible to transfer a domain form one company to another? I currently have one with 1and1.co.uk which I wish to change to namecheap.com - simply because namecheap have a much better service. I'm sure this is possible but i thought I would make sure.

Had this problem a while ago, you can transfer it, but it has to go through the other provider, for example Godaddy.

Going by what Aftermath said, you have to transfer it to GoDaddy first, then namecheap from there...I think...

No need. You should be able to transfer it from 1and1 directly. If I'm not wrong when you register the domain name it's yours, not theirs, and because of that, they must allow through their application or sales to transfer the domain to another domain registrar.

With Namecheap or GoDaddy it should be pretty straight forward. I would recommend you contacting 1and1 and personally asking them to help you transfer the domain or just what is required.
