We could save some load time by making the css files flat files rather in inline css. Then the browsers should cache the css files and would reduce the amount of code to load. Your browsers should be caching the images.

Loads fine for me. The old skin loads worse in my opinion. The way it does it is really weird too, the nav starts overflowed then moves in to it's place.

That's what Opera reports, the number isn't a problems, it's the size of a simple page like this. 400k is too much, although the site usually loads fast, and I'm in China.

Using the old forum skin its is and always has been fine. I couldn't comment on the new skin.

I think maybe it's just because im using IE7 and the person who made the skin forget to make it browser friendly...
