That's what it's really about. Personally I use Marijuana maybe once or twice a year, and only socially. To me the prohibition of drugs in this country is only a symptom of an underlying issue: People don't care about freedom. The idea of drugs makes them uncomfortable so they want to see it illegal. Homosexuality makes people uncomfortable, so they lash out against it and persecute homosexuals through loss of civil liberties and sometimes violence. They did the same thing with African Americans in the first 3/4ths of the 20th century. Until something fundamental about our society changes there's always going to be something. If it's not homosexuality, drugs, or people of a different ethnicity it may be overweight people, or smokers or people who practice a different religion or no religion. Unfortunately I don't see that change coming anytime soon in the future.

Even though I've never used any drugs or ever intend to, I do think weed should be legalized, regulated and taxed.

Alcohol damages your brain, liver, stomach and kidneys..

Weed damages your respiratory system if smoked..

I don't see how weed is more harmful than alcohol.

People are going to smoke it whether it's illegal or not and legalizing it would be a great way for California to get more tax revenues. Plus it's the only drug with medical benefits which makes me wonder why it's even illegal in the first place.
