Ok im gonna start a blog, im new to wordpress and i wanna add a box on the sidebar where i will list the sites i run, is there a plugin for this or do i need to edit the template manually?

Its in the blogroll feature. You can add it by clicking Blogroll on 2.1 and links on older version.

Thats if i think i understand you right.
