  Old  New Steam UI

I dont really know where this thread should go, but since it's 'software', I'm posting it here. if you feel it can be moved elsewhere, then by all means do so.

For those of you that use Steam, a different interface is about to be released, but you can get a beta version of it - but I wouldn't recommend getting it if you use Steam a lot.

I've got some screenshots of it for you, so users can see whats improved.

Oh, and no "steam is crap" posts, please. Theres nothing wrong with Steam if you use it properly.

What do you think?

Steam was always gagging for a better interface, the current one is ghastly. I like this one, I wonder what themes will become available in the future.

Im not sure if I like it or not. I quite like the current steam interface, but maybe thats because I have got used to it. There are actually other skins around the net available for download, but I have never wanted to mess my steam up. Counterstrike-source could do with a new background image too.

I did have a little spat where I loved the original Steam design for a while, and wanted to change my whole Windows XP interface to it, but I've soon gotten tired of those plain 3D effects and plain colour scheme.

Plus the current Steam style is very hard to customize, and you can't really do much to it. By the looks of it, this is more XML based, perhaps.

If so, unimaginable things could be possible.

It's about time they got off their asses and made some changes. I was getting sick of their current interface.
