Old  Am I in the wrong forum niche?

My forum niche is all about virtual pets - where virtual pet users (from pet sites) can come on over and chat about their favorite pet sites, however; we're now 7 months old with the following stats:

Am I in the wrong niche - or should I keep on trying to build my community - and hope I can branch it into a gaming community some day?

If you guys were in my position, what would you do?

How have you promoted the forums? how active are your members?

There's a million forums out there, what does yours have that they dont?

I think that you have a fairly interesting niche. I would keep going with it, keep marketing, maybe take it to the next level. I would just continue trying to build my community, I don't think there's anything wrong with the niche.

Yea, the thing that a lot of places lack these days is uniqueness. And that's a pretty unique idea.. Stick with it. And later down the road, open up a brand new community to run as a sister-site with this one (such as the game forum you're talking about). Putting ads up to the gaming forum on the other will get people over there if they want to go, and not if they don't. This way, you can run two communities and make double the profit if they were both to get big.
