Old  Having no luck with this one.

I paid around $1,000 early last year for http://www.photographyforums.org ..Since then,

- the PSD was redone
- design was coded and put into vbulletin
- vb seo, user galleries.. and everything was implemented
- interviews were done
- Now have 200 camera reviews, camcorder reviews, site reviews, printer reviews
- however many articles

I'm starting to think, i'm great at getting a site prepared for launching.. but not actaully any good after that.

I spent money on forum posters.. among other stuff, but nothing seems to keep users there.

I've spent well over $3k now on this website, and i'd like to know if anyone has any ideas on how to promote it one last time? or i'll be forced to sell it and likely make a loss

Lovely site, there is lot's more you can do to promote it. Send me a pm when you can, i'll let you know a few things. But i am sure, any forum owners on here may be able to give some input.

I'd like to give you some feedback on it. I like the site and can tell you put a lot into it. (When I went to the site you were editing it I guess because I saw it without the CSS, had to refresh and was excited by the design) I think you have a lot of categories. On the front page you've got 20 different sub-forums. Maybe your post count would be more if you had a few less categories... maybe five and six less. That could make the forum look a little busier.

Aside from that you could offer a contest for one more big sha-bang but run it over a month. Do you have any ads on the site?

You need some targeted traffic/backlinks. Advertise on related sites. Get an adwords account perhaps?

I think hire some forum posters in short burts over a while and make sure there posting over 50 words so its a proper post not just like "Yeah, i agree" Try get a profesional up or pay him?

Hey guys, thanks for your replies!

Troy - Thankyou =) I did consider making less categories, and more for that matter. I didn't want to make it so large to confuse the readers, but so small that they don't really have a choice. Thanks for your complements!

Seb - I have tried a slight for of advertising. It's not so much getting the visitors to my site; it's getting them to register, and stay.

Jako - Thankyou.

Eversuns (hey btw.) I did write some forum posters. Spent around $100, and all came out pretty good.

I also got members of another forum I post in (barely now..) and they were very active, until.. they stopped being active..

Thanks for the replies.
