Old  Trying My Hand at Business Cards...

Trying my hand at business cards, and I have a few questions:
1. How should I price these babies?
2. What is the best way to optimize these for print? (I am talking DPI, etc.)
3. Where are the cheapest bulk printers?
4. Who should I target? (Small businesses, Private Owners, etc.)

Thanks!

I love the design, nothing wrong with it. But business cards are usually not as tall aren't they?

Can't answer the questions, never thought about designing business cards.

All I can tell you is to make them 300 DPI, but I have no idea about the other things.

Edit: I'm a little slow, sorry.

Don't forget you need to work in CMYK also.

The easiest way would be to download a template. You'll have to account for bleed and the printers preferences. Most printers will give you their preferences.

I've used gotprint.com before and they're not bad, their templates are here: http://gotprint.net/gotprint/showSta...templates.html

gotprint.com has good prices, but if you're looking for quality I'd recommend 4over.com rather than gotprint. Sign up and they'll send you a booklet featuring prints of all their printing products, extremely nice and handy to have when you're showing potential clients what kind of quality they can expect. 4over is the best quality for the price I've found so far.

You should use the template that your printer requires. Different printers will require different specs. There is no correct size, the question is simply what size is correct for your printer.

However, the majority of business cards are 3.5" X 2", around here anyway.
