Old  What Server Would be Faster/Better?

Ok guys, hopefully somebody could answer this question for me.

I recently picked up a copy of Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition for free, and i want to set it up on a server and mess around with it. What CPU combo would be the fastest/best?

AMD Athlon XP 2500+
Single Penitum 3 1 ghz
Dual Pentium 3 1 ghz

* all of them would be running 1 gb of ram.

So, which one is the best? Thanks for your help!

I think Dual.

I don't know much about AMD - But those Dual servers are supposed to be the best right now processor wise.

Dual Pentiums are good for server needs, however logically it makes more sense that Athlon would be faster ... I guess you should try both (unless it costs extra money) just for the sake of it and see?

Isn't the AMD dualcore shown 1.83ghz? (x2). Though I'm a fan of AMD myself, they are better than intel, but generally more costly.

Thanks for the comments. Because of the level of security in the Windows Server software, i want to install this only once for now.

If all goes well, i'll buy a single Xeon or P4 server. Right now i own an AMD XP 2500+ (single core/ single processer so i don't confuse anyone) and a gig of ram. Its a personal computer, so it doesn't have that many fans.

I was thinking of buying a Dual Penitum 3 off of ebay for like $200 or maybe buy a Quad Pentium 3 for like $300-$350. Can't decide on which one though.

I'm going to post up a thread on webhostingtalk to see what they think. If anybody else has any suggestions, please, feel free to post them up
