Good to hear this humble response Anthony

To tell the truth I don't think more staff is necessary, I think an attitude change is needed. Staff are only here to guide members when they need help or are breaking rules. Rules are not really getting broken badly and no members really ask for guidance. Staff cannot change peoples attitudes, that is up to all of us. More staff means more chances of staff abusing their positions, which happens at a lot of the bigger forums.

Robson has made everyone aware of the issues in a very simple post, now we ALL need to step up to the mark and own our own attitudes.

Yeah, I would just like to follow up on Julians post.

This really doesn't have anything to do with a shortage of staff, activity has actually been higher than ever (we broke 300 active members visiting) the problem is just the attitude of a few members, people have got their backs up and this has led to some arguements and such.

I'd say the problem was mainly 4 things

1) Attitude
2) You not posting
3) Lack of staff activity
4) No new, interesting, topics to post in.

2 and 4 are really closley linked, if you don't have any interesting topics to post in, whats the point of coming? I'd say AlexK and Bazza are two people you should strongly consider to mod.

We don't need any more mods, we have enough to control the forum. Threads are deleted when needed, probolems are sorted out etc. More mods will lead to people abusing their power as Julian said. Especially when mods become biased towards certian members. I think the mods we have right now are doing just fine. I agree that there has been a lack of interesting topics to post in, most of them are to do with myspace.com.

Mmmm, I don't think it's only Robson's responsibility to post interesting topics for us all to read. I do think that the forum admins should encourage and post interesting topics, but Robson isn't the only admin out there.

Furthermore, it is up to the community to post interesting articles and topics that they come across. And I have to admit that I haven't started any really interesting threads, well, at all here. But it's been 10 years since I've been in the freelance world and things have changed.

When I first joined there were several interesting discussions, and I hoped for more articles in the "Articles From The Experts" section along the lines of Julian's and that's what drew me to this place. There were some excellent debates on up-coming software and design techniques. Perhaps it is just the new year blahs and this thread will help get the gears moving

Well, administrators do help the posting rates of forums, I believe its a known fact, but I could be wrong.
