Do you use css or table based designs?

I see more and more people creating css based designs over table designs these days, just wondering what percentage of the members here code in each? Obviously there are some people who are new to web design and probably haven't learnt 100% css based designs, is this something you would look to learn in the future or not bother with? To the people who do code css designs, any particular reason for deciding to opt for this as opposed to the table based method? Does it depend on your client or is it personal preference?

Newbie has to learn html first then CSS if they want to.

I use both. I know table isn't good.

I am hybrid. I use tables to do a simple layout such as columns (all modern browsers can do tables the same, so its easier and more accessable than div's), and then use CSS to piece other things together.

I selected CSS because it's more advanced but I do both. I can do table designs about 20x faster than a CSS design.

You should have an option for both or make it possible for you to select both.

I'm not a coder at all, I haven't written a single html code in a couple of months so I never took the time to learn tableless xhtml/css, even though I know tableless is better. What a shame huh? I gotta admit that I still use tables whenever I need to code something, which doesn't happen too often. But I'll learn one day, just need to take the time.

I like using tables! but i have had a sudden interest in css based designs recently.

I personally adore the new "fad" css sites, but I must confess, I still use tables.

I'll use either - it depends how compatible I want the layout to be with other browsers, though.

So, basically. For personal things - CSS based.
For something I want everyone to read - tables.

I use css for smaller sites, cause I havent used tableless coding on a larger project. And I use tables every so often, although I don't like to.

CSS no tables, unless working on a email newsletter/eletter design as some email clients aren't too good with supporting css layouts.

Why code CSS? Simply because web pages using tables for layout don't allow you to seperate the design from content. Use only tables for tabular data -plus it takes much less time to create tableless websites.
