I don't agree that validators are poop. They are very handy and show if you code html correctly or not.

Lot of people code sloppy.

There are several reasons valid code and standards compliance are very important. Here are a few links that discuss it.

http://www.stuffandnonsense.co.uk/ar...ds_trifle.html
http://www.maxdesign.com.au/presenta...fits/index.htm
http://www.w3.org/QA/2002/04/Web-Quality
http://www.webstandards.org/learn/faq/#p3

As an instructor I don't allow my students to hand me invalid code, I have failed projects that looked great but were invalid non-standards compliant, non-accessibility complient projects.

Where's Safari? You're not going to cater for 99% without it!

Well he can cater to at least 97% of it... lol

PS: As a coder - Safari is very frustrating, it has more quirks than any other browser, even Opera.

Patrick

For example, 6% of visitors to one of my sites are on Safari. To be quite honest I'd rather not ignore 1 in every 16 visitors just because it's not a 'major browser'. Interestingly, on said site I have 18 times more Safari visitors than Opera. (All figures from Google Analytics)

They where just off the top of my head, being a Windows user and never using a Mac, i've never come accross it.
