This is totally off topic but Anthony, did you design http://www.tootorials.com/ ? It looks alot like nerdpoint :-|

I think you should raise your prices. If people want you to do their work, they will hire you.

Well anthony, I'm sorry to here that. Here is my advice to you.

You are way better than me at web design. You charge $250 a psd (last time I heard). With me, I charge maybe $50-$75 per psd. So there is a baseline. Then, when it comes to local work, I've designed a web page for a local client, and he was billed $800. What is my point? Get into local web design. You already have experience in business, use that to your advantage. Make some business cards, ask around, and do some research. Work your ass off. There are small business's that are willing to pay full price for web designs (unlike people on the internet). You have the skills necessary, just get your name out. I know that when I mature in web design, I will make the most money from local customers, not people I meet online.

I hope that helps, and I hope it motivates you to acheive your goals in life as a designer.

LOCAL WEBDESIGN = $

Your base clients need to be ones you can easily phone or meet. These are the people that shell you cash. Online people are looking for the online price = cheap.

Especially look for local businesses that have accountants. This means the company has enough money that it needs to be managed. Invoice em for a decent price.

My base of clients are re-occurring and local. They have ideas from time to time that I merge with the original site I setup. I was blessed to have met my 'manager' at an old job, he is an IT guy that has many connects but doesn't know how to make websites so who gets the outsource and the $? Me.

Oh. I wanted to be a game designer, I am good in 3d enviornments / textures etc. Everything that you need to create a game I have learned it through experience, self-teaching, and school. I wanted to be a game designer as a career. But, artist like us can't hold an attention span too long unless it is something that really intrests us. I decided recently to keep on with the graphic designer path instead of a game designer.

my main point is ask yourself if you want to be a graphic designer, yes or no. You could be passing up other intrests...

Thanks, I will give that a go.

Most likely James Mathias' post will bring his site down before I have to resort to that.

Please don't post peoples personal information on the forum, it isn't considerate.

Anthony, ever think of getting a part time job for your extra time instead of designing? Or getting some local design jobs?
