Old  Point, Shoot, Click, Then What?

Point, Shoot, Click, Then What?

What happens after we have finished a photo shoot? Besides of course backing up our photos and making sure our source is never touched, and the inevitable review of our work.

Well most photographers might just go ahead and start editing their photographs, but with what program? This is where we now face a turning point, in our choice of photograph editing and organization.

You may recall a while back at the beginning of the year we talked about Adobe Lightroom Beta in one of our class discussions, and how "convenient" it was to be released as a beta to the public, when an update for Apple's Aperture photo editing program was about to be released. Is Adobe afraid of a little competition?

Well now Adobe Lightroom is finished and ready to ship to many photographers on both the Mac and PC platform (Rumored to be on Feb. 15, Adobe says Mid February). Lightroom has a current introductory cost of $199 USD and retails regularly at $299, where as Aperture also retails at $299 USD.

Aperture is our other choice created by Apple for the Mac platform - Is this the first issue with Aperture vs Lightroom? - and is also a photograph editing program. Aperture is considered by Apple to be a Pro level program since it has its iPhoto program for photography editing as well. Aperture has many more features and abilities than iPhoto.

So will Adobe Lightroom "STOMP - OUT" Aperture? You decide.
