The first thing is reliability. The host has to be always up (I understand that it might go down every now and then but not all the time) It also has to have great support. Phone support is a must and online 24/7 is a great plus. Finally things they are offering should be within the range of their price. I hate plans where they offer 300mb space and 2 gigs of traffic for 5$ a month. That's plain ripoff.

It has to be reliability, without that a host shouldn't be in business. I would say support is also key, sometimes companies put more effort into attracting new clients than supporting the ones they have.

Depends what they packages were?

There is also a difference between offering something and providing it. I would only buy hosting from a company with a solid reputation.

Hosts should offer (for me to choose them) an outstanding customer support and work dedication ethic. They should also be eager to grow their enterprise and client base properly, without taking any shortcuts what so ever.

I will settle for a 99.9% SLA Uptime Guarantee, but 100% is also another incentive to buy. The website must be of a reasonable standard and their use of e-software should be second to none.

I always take pride in my business operations, why should other people ignore it?

For me, their offer must be confirmed by the experiences of their customers.

the 99% uptime can only be a monetary guarantee of some type. That kind of thing is generally pretty much worthless once you thing that a 3 days downtime would result in a mere $10 or $20 refund. For anyone with a serious site, that kind of sum is nothing compared to the harm done by the prolonged downtime.

If I werent with SuccessfulHosting.com, I would definately try Site5. Don't worry this is related..

The reason I would try Site5 is their progression meaning they are always thinking up new ways to offer more and better their service. That kind of dedication is something I like to see. Of course recently they havent been getting the best of reviews but thats one factor I would look for that hasnt been mentioned already.

Plus the common ones, excellent support and excellent uptime.
