Have you ever considered being a webhost?
These days, you can literally have a webhost up in aday, buy a reseller, fit yourself up with a domain, and get yourself a template off a forum.
Have you ever considered going into hosting, despite your hate of school kids in their bedrooms?
I must admit i have considered it before as a challenge to make some profit, but never bothered too.
I don;t think I'd have the dedication to be on Live Support every night.

Stories..?

I have considered it several times before. I considered it about 6 years ago when I was like 14, it was the first time I heard of "reseller" and though, humm there is money to be made here!

Unfortunatly i'm not stupid enough to go into this market, oversaturated! I'm friends with a bedroom host as you call it, he puts in hours upon hours everyday running his business, sure he does make quite abit of dough though.

The problem is, you can make enough money to live off through hosting but if you want to get serious about it you can't do it alone! You're need to get staff, dedicated support teams and allsorts. It's a very difficult business to crack and pretty expensive to start-up.

With that being said, when tf finally gets going....as in our website I have thought about providing sponsered hosting/free hosting to our members or something, perhaps even some paid plans. I would like the challenge!

I think everyone has thought about it, I was only attracted to it as it seemed an 'easy' way to earn money, but I put the idea off and now im glad I didnt start a hosting company up because im not that interested in hosting and dont have a clue about it

If you are a designer (a company or freelance), you need to have at least a reseller account, or better yet a decided server. A lot of time, my clients either pay too much for their hosting services, or don't have any.
