Old  What to do when new LCD screen destroys my eyes

I simply do not know what is wrong. I work with computers for dozen years and never had this problem with staring to screen.
I wanted to give myself a little present so I bought nice HP 22" LCD.

I came home connected it to my desktop PC and from the first moment I saw that something is wrong.
This LCD do not want to work properly and when I tried all the test and utilities provided with this monitor, I got results showing that there are problems at least with timing (?).
For example have a gray background, I can see how pixels are "waving" on screen and a "lines" are running on screen.
It is hard to work with this screen for more then few minutes...

Do you think that this problem can be solved when I buy graphic cart with DVI output (At the moment I run standard VGA graphic card) or should I take it back to shop?

My LCD is HP w2216.

I tried connect this screen even to my laptop (VGA output) and results are same.
