  Old  Communication with clients

Hello,

I was wondering if you always meet up with a client, or do you deal with clients on distance, by email etc. to talk about everything related to designing the website for them?

Do you think this is something that could work? I mean, you can talk about anything that´s needed to build the complete website for the client and get the desired results by using e-mail, phone, skype, etc. ?

Just wondering what your thoughts are about this.

Sometime's it is not possiable to meet face to face with cliant's because of distance so using Skype/Phone is the best way.
Email is fine when going over certain area's but other then that use Basecamp.

Normally, as Ryan said, your clients are too far away too meet up and aren't willing to pay for the commute over. In that case I either use e-mail or phone. And if it's a small un-professional client I'll use MSN/AIM.

But with any client, it should be possible to use email, phone etc. even if they aren't far away from you...? Maybe they expect to meet up but...

All of the above...meet them, email them, phone them, IM them...just make sure you communicate with them effectively.

E-mail should be used for one or two questions and for documenting what you discuss via voice or in-person. If you ask two questions, though, expect only one might get answered .

Voice is minimum for closing a deal with a client and discussing project details. In-person is best and gives you an opportunity to look around their business and see where else you might be useful.
