Is it worth making a forum?
Hey,
I've heard alot that forum ctr's are very low.
So even when you place adsense on a big forum it doesn't earn that much.
Is that right?
Because i don't see why everyne starts a forum if it doesn't earn.
Fromwhat i've seen, banners don't get many clicks eether.
Why bither then?
Thanks!

Big Forums might lead to good pagerank. In which good pagerank leads to text link and banner sales, I guess.

forums are hard to market, what do You have that everyone else doesnt? You have to have a purpose to the forum and a reason to go here and not to your larger counterpart.

Is it possible to earn at least some money form a forum a discussion forum, which talks about a specific subject. The only way i can see is adsense, and no one really clicks adds that much. Although it's hard to believe the amount that some people can make through adsense.

If you owned a large forum the chances are you wouldn't even be thinking about adsense (unless you wanted to do some form of revenue sharing, like DP for example)

One thing you could do is charge something for access to some parts of the forum. But then again, you'd have to be offering something really really interesting and captivating for that model to work out.

you shouldn't oly think at a forum but also offer some services with it. Like for example a portal page, tutaorials, ...
You can take a look for example at namepros.
