Question for all of you
Hello I am well old school HTML writing it in either note pad or now im lazy and use dreamweaver. My question is how do you all take your psd files that rock and then turn them into working websites with text and buttons etc. I have always just used simple boarders headers and then tables for all of my content.
Thanks

Do not slice your layout.
If you know how to use tables, or div elements; first make a template of your setup (example: header, content, left sidebar, footer).
Then add all your images/text, use css for text and background images.

ok I do have another question but I will wait till I have worked out a rough design. I knew how to use photoshop to slice up everything and put it into tables but I have never really used css stuff before. I have ordered some books about css so i can catch up with the times. To be honest I would love to go back through school all over again just to learn web design from a pro. Well good night all and I will have a rough design done hopefully soon.

Usually I design via fireworks, and once I have a good rough design, then start parsing the layout into smaller parts (header, borders, footer). This is when I usually start slicing via Fireworks.
When it comes to putting it together, I strictly code via CSS.

Wouldn't you have to slice it anyways?
