great thread robson. Its realy hard to open a webdesign/hosting now... There are like many of them around.... if u wanna think about opening a forum.. just remember to think about something different than designing.. something that cant be found very often.. thats why i didnt open a webdesign forum.. I knew it wont succeed. So i chose another topic for my forum which is rarely found around

Great article in my opinion.
It takes out those points that are very important to focus on when making a website/forum

this one is a classic thoo:

Impatience

Probably the biggest downfall of a lot of forums. For some reason people seem to think success comes overnight, this isn’t the case. Creating an active community, quality product or service takes time and dedication. I put aside a great deal of time to concentrate on my website and I don’t expect to see great returns for a long while yet.
