If I were to own a network of lots of different sites, would it make sense to register a limited liability company (LLC) under the network name, and all the sites trade under the network's business-name, as opposed to each site having it's own business registered?

Any other options?

It would certainly save you a few bucks, not to mention a lot of time. Then you could just say "[Network Name] Ltd., trading as [Site Name]".

I'd go a different route: make one company own them all, but have a name different from your main network name or any other network name. This is your "corporate" name, so it doesn't need to be the same as your site name.

One LLC to cover all the sites. Not one LLC for each site. What name you give this LLC is not too relevant. You can have the name be one of your sites. Or a name totally different from any of your sites. I would prefer the latter such as "Something Web Design LLC" and then cover all sites created by "Something Web Design LLC".
