  Old  Detecting Browser Version

So, I'm making a website, and IE is playing up and not working like the other damn browsers, as per usual.

Now, I had a script working where it showed a different stylesheet for IE than it did for Firefox, but then I found out the browser versions in IE displayed different things too.

I was wondering if any of you nice, kind people, could possibly write me a script that detects the browser version for IE, and shows different things, and then... well I can do the else parts myself. lol.

Thanks for the help.

A quick search on Google would have quickly directed you to:

http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms537509.aspx

Which should be sufficient for your needs.

I did search on google, and couldn't find what I needed.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the link. It looks to be exactly what I need. Thanks a lot.

You must have some pretty funky search queries because that link was the first thing that came up for me.

You're very welcome.

You could use conditional statements.

Code:
<!--[if IE 6]><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css"/><![endif]-->
