  Old  Comment forms all screwey

Hi, I have had this site up for a few months and I JUST noticed that when you try to put in a comment, or fill out the email form, when you select the form field object, the user is sent back to the front page. Any ideas on what would cause this behaivior?

this is my site izbrush.com

I do have cforms II installed right now as well, no widgets enabled.

Your entire site is screwed up. If you click ANYWHERE on any page that is not actually a link, you get taken back to the home page! You have a huge number of scripts installed all over the place and unless someone else has had exactly the same problem I doubt anyone will find the problem.

When designing something, you should test it every time you add some new part. What did you add before this happened? Try removing it and see it that solves it. (You could copy everything to a new folder, and work through removing bits until you find the offending item, then make another copy and just remove that item and see it is cures things totally)

Alternatively, start again, and test it at every stage where you add a script to find the one that triggers the action.

I'm amazed that you could get so far through a project with noticing that a click anywhere in the content does this. Only noticing it on the comments page surprizes me, as it was immediately obvious that everything was active.

Is there some script near the top with an onclick() action that you've not intended to be there?

EDIT
read the next post for the answer! Merry Xmas

Just had another look - WHERE does the header div finish??? It has an onclick() to return you to the home page.

It goes all the way down to almost the bottom of the page!

Look where you really want the header div to end, and insert </div>
Then remove the surplus </div> near the bottom.

EDIT

Yup, just edited it and that cured it.
Visit my kidney site, if you like.

ah thanks! total case of neglect on my part and "can't see the forest through the trees". I'm going back to give this some love and fix a bunch of small silly errors nows.

Cheers!
