Money was my biggest inspiration to start with. I then found as time went on that there's a whole new artistic world to appreciate, which is when money became less important and I started focusing on integrity and customer retention.

I wasn't inspired, as i ain't really into photoshop much, but what got me more into it is that old tutorial site... ROBOUK.MCHOST or something... not up anymore. Sadly

I think you should edit your post to what inspired you to become a freelancer.
But the thing that got me into the whole web design/web hosting scene was just to help other people out. I have always wanted to help others!

I didn't really get inspired. I guess I just got attracted to the glamorous life-style of a designer.

Or I'm just an artistic person and drawing just wasn't exciting anymore. So I decided to try computer/graphic art and realized that websites and such are very fun to do.

I was interested in trying my hand at some tutorials that I had found and wanted to see if I could make them into something that would be unique for me.

Well, I was a newbie on the internet, and I was impressed by everything, of course.

I joined a community, some of the members there were making trendwhorish banners, and I requested one, and got a really bad graphic - and I guess thats what started me off.

I tried to improve it with my horrible Dell version of PSP7.

I still use PSP to this day though.. Photoshop just seems like a waste, as I can produce stuff thats just as good with what I already have here.

That girl named Tynz was making those sexy banners for her Xanga (sort of blog) and when I learned she made those in Photoshop, I got into it and started playing with the program.

No one really inspired me. I wanted to have my own forum, so I did.. I had made my own logos and stuff, but always got my designs from other people. Then I decided to upgrade to a paid host and I started experimenting with Invision Power Board and finally knew how to design stuff.

But I am now only designing for money. I am trying to get a VAIO but I'm $500 short.
