Consultancy - What's it worth?

Hey Guys,

I see more and more companies offering consultancy as a service lately. Both on and offline. I was just curious to know what it's real value is? I'm confident enough about it to say it can be measured per hour, minute, or along a certain period of time.

If anybody offers this as a service, or for free. I'd love to have more information.
