Old  Tama Speed Cobra Brochure Site

Long time since I posted here so hello again.

Finished this initial mockup of a brochure site for a drum pedal.

Looking for feedback.

The pre-order here button looks awkward. I like that you chose a bold color to have it stand out but.. the color used for "Here" looks washed out and the icon doesn't really fit in with the style of the rest of the site.

Only other thing I would recommend is that you allow a user to click on the thumbnail features to few a larger view of it. Small thumbnails won't do the product any justice.

I agree with both your points, here are the reasons why.

Colour of "here" on the button was clients request.
I had no access to any real promotional material, so no hi-res versions of the thumbnails. (for example I had to recreate the logo from scratch)

To be frank while a client requests you to do something a certain way, ultimately you are the designer are you not? You should be able to point to your client what will or won't work. Letting them trample on you only hinders the process and/or the hidden talent. At least I've always maintained this with my clients. Have to put your foot down once in awhile.

Clients never provide you all material you need huh (re: hi-res + logo). Or they take weeks/months.. :P

True, and I do this with a lot of my clients when they make bad requests, but when the request is small and not completely awful I don't mind doing it, makes the client feel like they have had some say in it (that was the only change they requested).

Funnily enough in this case the client also didn't have access to the marketing material, they where not provided with the logins from the manufacturer so they agreed to an increased quote for extra time spent on sourcing good enough photos and creating the logo

It looks professional and purposeful, the design fits together nicely.

I think I agree RE the pre-order button, but it did hit me in the face so maybe it's doing it's job.

Only thing I think might have improved it, is the logo.. I don't know if this was your task or not.

The website is clean, shiney, metallic and industrial.. The logo seems to have an electrical fault.

I just think it slightly detracts from the overall professionalism of the rest of the site.

Good job.
