Google. Even Bing (the new MSN SE sucks).

Google by far, although Yahoo is a close second.

  Old  Search engines

Google is fine but new engine from microsoft - Bing has some great features (especially when searching for images or video)

If you do not like that someone (e.g. Google) is storing information about you, your searches and sites you visited then Cuil is a great choice. (they do not store your steps. It is pure search engine)

And for specific searches (e.g. related to science) is great Wolfram Alpha - it is the real revolution. Try it!

Google obviously. They return relevant searches quickly and most of all with very little clutter (unlike Yahoo).

I must say though that bing.com is showing great potential.

Google will always be the top search engine. It is easy to use and very popular. Bing is rising and showing potential, but I doubt it will beat Google. If it does, I will be one happy webmaster: I am ranking high for all my keywords (:

I first started using Yahoo way back, but ever since I discovered Google, I never switched back. This is because of the comprehensive results that Google offers. It would be hard to beat Google in terms of popularity and usefulness.
