  Old  Attempt at portfolio

I've been thinking lately that I could use a place to post my creations and up coming tutorials as I've got some stuff in the works and so I sat down with PhotoShop tonight to see if I could put something together.
My creativity really isn't that hot at the moment and I was off to a very slow start and with that said I decided to keep it simple yet, hopefully, neat and clean.
So I managed to slam something together and am now looking for some input wether or not it's worth to continue working with.
Since I want it simple I guess the design itself is kind of done already, some of the other sections might look a bit different though and I might add some final touches, anyway, I just wanted to hear some opinions.

Thanks in advance!

Very nice work. A tad dark though, lighten it up a bit and introduce a better colour scheme. I like the structure of the art page. Also to make it stand out more is to be more detailed and take time on creating a unique logo for it.

I like it alot. It looks like it would be a great site for ajax or flash.

Keep it simple like that--it's not very original, but it's classy. I like it. The only thing I would suggest is a more creative logo. Something that's slick and hip to match the pink/gray color scheme. Good work overall.

My words exactly, but like James said, try and introduce a better color scheme.

I like it. I am a fan of dark and think if you go clean and simple you will always win. Good Job from me.

Thanks,

Jim

The colors remind me of that. All the more reason I love i but I do agree with Xuxa's statement.

Thanks a lot for all the response, keep it coming!

The reason I didn't put any real time into creating an actual logo is because that aspect of designing is without a doubt my weakest spot, I'm really aweful at it.
However with that said I at least made an attempt and since it's morning here now and I haven't slept I can't say if I like it or if it's trash, so I'll take a look at it myself tomorrow (or today rather..) with fresh eyes.
Though I've uploaded it so I can potentially get some feedback until then.
If it is indeed trash I'll most likely see if I can find someone on here who can help me out with it (for payment of course).
Anyway, uploaded two "version", one with the oh-so-popular reflection 'effect' and one without.

Reflection: http://static.pici.se/pictures/vYmbJpyeR.jpg
Without: http://static.pici.se/pictures/lmgglBFqI.jpg

Oh and feel free to expand on the whole Ajax and Flash thing, last time I used flash for a site I pretty much got burned (not on here) for it being 'unnecessary' and while I can see how this type of design fits the whole 'slick/interface' kind of thing I'm still wondering how best to apply flash without it being used for no good reason.
As for Ajax I have no experience at all with it, so any more evolved opinions/suggestion on the matter (aswell as flash) is much appreciated!

Thanks mate!

I've made a thread in the marketplace requesting a logo designer, I really hated what I came up with above heh and I just have to accept the fact that I can't design logos worth a damn.
