  Old  photoshop xp

i started creating web templates in photoshop i have been doin it for 2 weeks , when i make a layout its not that pro looking its ok but..

my questions are:
1.how to gain web design experience in ps
2.where?
3.the other problem is color i dont know pro loking colors ,when i chose a color it dosent look so good:P so where , how???????????????????????
4. how long practice did it take you to make pro looking layouts?

1. The best way to get experience is to practice. Tutorials will help you get used to the tools but you shouldn't only rely on tutorials.

3. Again practice helps as does trial and error. Also sites like http://www.colorschemer.com/schemes/

4. I've been making layouts for about four, maybe five years now.

Practise a lot learning the tools, get a idea of what colours you think look good together, as we are all unique we all have our own unique ways of doing things so perhaps come up with a unique style, afterall styles that look similar arn't great because every designer should be original. Buy by all means do take others people work into consideration so you can contemplate what styles are good for you and which direction you want to take.

All colours can be made into something 'Professional' - Just try to follow your instincts, They won't be that bad ;>
