Best way to market a blog?

Alright, I recently created my own blog for my niche and I was wondering what's one of the best ways to start marketing it?

The url is: virtual pets blog

Some sort of viral/link bait scheme. As far as I know, people talking about your blog is the fastest way to get it out there. Make something controversial, or something people would want to link too. Put it on Digg, and try and get it front paged. Then a lot of people will start talking about it, you'll get a lot of traffic from Digg, and people will see your site on the Digg front page and start talking about it. If its good, it will spread like wildfire.

Rinse, recycle, repeat.

I've created a few controversial articles and it seems like my traffic is doing well. My blog isn't going to hit Digg's frontpage.

Blog Rolls?

Get on other people's blogs, and advertise in the respected targeted audience.

There's a myriad of different ways to market blogs specifically. You should make sure to try out blogging networks, like MyBlogLog, Blogrush & BumpZee in particular. They yield high traffic for very little work.

exchanges with other blogs in similar nieche always do the job

also technorati and blog directory listings can help too

for a spike get it reviewed.

Try blogrush, its working for me at the moment, similar traffic each day. Also maybe get a nice design for it and put up in galleries, that will give you a spike aswell.
