Old  Promoting my xbox 360 forum?

As you may know i've started an xbox forum. What would be the best way to get the ball rolling with it? I'm writing reviews for some games i play and putting together a walkthrough for a Splinter Cell game. What would be your suggestions to get these known?

I'm also getting some banners made, so next step is getting banners up on TFL (as im a regular member) and also maybe forums that are game related. Maybe find a Wii forum or PS3 forum to advertise my banners on.. Do text links work effectively?

I'm also getting a skin made and coded to improve the visual aspect of things.

2007 will be the year i make 360signal.com successful and i hope you watch me make it a success - Gotta have a little confidence in yourself eh?

I would suggest a lot of Gears of War online coverage, like the top teams or something?

I don't know that a Wii forum is a good option. I think most Wii owners are young kids because of the type of games.

Fake press release announcing the Wii has a major design fault which could kill!

On a more serious note though...
- Getting people to put the URL in their XBL gamer tag things (Is that possible?)
- A common/whored idea, but... A contest offering a magazine subscription
- Spam eBay with fake items listings like the 'Free iPod' ones
- Signature links/banners on other 360 forums

When I see a community I always go to the articles and then view how many users are online and the amount of active members then if I think is good looking then I'd sign up.

1. Brilliant content
2. More brilliant content
3. Update the site with more unique content
4. More content
5. Get some friends to sign up, then tell them to tell friends.

Never try contests, they aren't ever very successful, ever! You waste your money and half the time the members who were posting leave immediately after the contest. You waste money on fake posts

Don't do that, thats why eBay gets a bad reputation because of scams etc.

whats the url? 360signal.com? does it work? I tried to go check it out just now and Firefox returns a server not found.

Not to be critical, but I would think the first step to promoting your site is to have it online when you're posting about it. Just a thought. At least a splash page or something. I doubt I am the first person to try to check out what you have so far.
