Old  I am new to this......

I am interested in becoming a Virtual Assistant so I can stay home with my little girl, but when I try to apply they ask for a proposal instead of a regular application. Can anyone give me some pointers on what to write? Any help would be greately appreciated.

I believe crystal is talking about an online support person, doing tech support or customer service via email or through an online chat.
To be honest i've never written a proposal and would benefit if someone could give some pointers

Regards,

I assume a proposal is just telling them what you can offer etc? As opposed to just writing down your qualifications.

State that you know something about the subject. They are looking to see if you understand what you will be providing help for.

Someone isn't going to hire you if you know nothing about the subject and have to keep telling the people on the phone. "Hold on, let me look it up" or "Hold on, I need to ask someone"

Yes, you will also need to show that you have a lot of patience.

One tip; Make sure that you use proper spelling and grammar. They will figure that how you write your contacts with them is the same as how you would treat one of their clients.

I'd suggest looking around the web, such as searching google. You could always treat what they are calling as proposal as a longer resume--just make sure that what you state you do and can do is the same that they are looking for. IE: If you want to work for a webhosting company, know something about the company and what they offer and what problems you might be forced to help support.
