Old  Does anyone use a FREE host for their website?

I remember about four years ago there were hundreds of free hosting providers, does anyone here actually use a FREE hosting provider for their website or business?

Ones that spring to mine are, homestead, geocities, anglefire, topcities, brinkster, zoom etc.

What was your favourite FREE host? I used to love anglefire, they actually gave you phpmyadmin and everything...i used to think it was so cool!

i'm using one for my portfolio (no banners, cpanel, php, everything)
when i signed up they were giving 50mb (i still have them), but now they give only 10megs of space and only 100mb of transfer.
for over a year server was maybe 2 times down and that was just for a few hours.

www.sdmhost.com/freehost.php

if you don't have domain name you can get subdomain, but i think anyone can afford to give 10$ on domain name

I use http://www.freespaces.com/ for my business. No ads and practically unlimited space in some sense. It's very nice.

I started out on geocities, then when I saw that I was improving I began to pay for hosting from a few different vendors.

I started off with free hosting for my very first site, courtesy of a friend of a friend, who i convinced after showing him some graphic work i had done before.

after that i moved on to paid hosting, more reliable, more control etc.

also, I offer a free hosting package to anyone interested. You get 150mb and 2gb of data transfer. contact me if interested. i only ask that a link be made back to my site, though it is not mandatory. you get all the same functions of a regular account (cpanel, fantastico, etc) but with less space.

For cgaros.com I'm using thesitepeople.com which is $5 USD / Month. For another site (I'm developing) I wouldn't say I use free hosting, I'm using one of my friends' servers.
