Dreamweaver uses its own rendering engine. It's different for the same reason pages look different in IE and Firefox.

jono1, Dreamweavers design view uses IE's parsing, since its used in most browsers (e. AOL, MSN, PeoplePC, etc.) But if you code it right, it should look the same in all of them.

It's just because it's a wysiwyg editor, you can't really depend on the design view, only on good old preview in firefox trick.

Yup, It gets annoying always previewing in ff. But it isnt that bad, I always preview in both.

There should be a button like F8 or something that previews it in IE for you. You can change that to IE too Make a habit of hitting that button
