  Old  (Hiring) Part Time Gig

If you happen to understand why sites aka web apps like freshbooks and 30boxes rock, then we are looking to talk with you.

We need some backend app development done for our own business, this will probably take months as its going to be scalable and require compliance, however will be fun and stress free.

So if you would dig $100 bucks a week + completion bonus for a few months stress free and part time work, then this gig is for you.

I'd appreciate considerably more details than what is posted at the start of the thread. You don't even mention if the developer will be working alone or part of a team (of programmers, designers, or larger team), on a pre-existing system or starting from scratch, or even what languages/technologies are prerequisites for the role!
Edit (20 Jan): The associated conversation was moved into its own topic: [Split] (Hiring) Part Time Gig

All I can say is shocking!!!! I think a mod needed to put an end to that a while ago. Were does everyone find the time? Nevermind it was a rhetorical question.

To answer your questions Solo, New System, Languages will be discussed for most suitable to fit requirement.

I would appreciate it if you could move this topic out of the "$100 Starting bid or lower" as i think that has give the impression of a "bad earner"

To clarify, basic wage $100 a week for say 3 months = $1200 and then $1000 bonus on completion total value in the region of $2200.00.

App development is different than Website development, hence the part about Freshbooks and 30boxes.

No Pontiferies need apply. (God like attitudes)

Explain to me how "web application development" is different from "web development", we're still talking about backend work here, so what is the difference? Enlighten me, please.

Also, if its taking months $2200 likely wont come close to cutting it.

I would personally do it for that price, but I am too busy at the moment.

Thanks for the answers, it helps to clarify what is expected of the developer.

I don't think the fact that this topic is in the budget forums has any bearing on giving an impression of being a "bad earner". Perhaps it's the $100/week for an undisclosed number of hours that's putting people off.

It appears that you're wanting an experienced application developer but only willing to pay junior developer rates. Could you clarify which side of the fence you're actually looking for?

Languages will be discussed for most suitable to fit requirement.
No-one will know if they meet the requirements if you do not post what language you are after (PHP, Ruby etc)

Lamans, with that rate it'll be difficult for you to find a good programmer, even one from a third world country.

Lamans. I am very interested in filling this role. My hourly rate would be $1 per hour so I will fit into budget. I can work between 100-170 hours a week, so that would be $100 to $170 a week. Please contact me quickly.
