Thats not a bad system
Pretty nice gfx card, with 1gig of ram - you'll probably manage to get to medium settings on BF2 with no hitches, and possibly High with minor hitches :P
Counter strike source will run on Maximum detail with perfect FR

I have a similar system and can run it on high, however it plays ALOT better on medium!

Yeah, I can run high with lag - medium runs pretty smoothly. Yet I still run BF2 on Low anyway, maybe it's because I can't be bothered to change it again.

Very nice setup, only thing I find a bit weird is why you have bought an SLI board and used an ATI graphics card.
Counter-Strike you should be able to run on maxium setting with a very smooth frame rate.
BF2 you should be albe to run on mainly high settings, maybe one or two on medium and get a smooth frame rate.

i didnt pay extra for the sli, and sli is useless unless you use a good sli compatible cards with it and that would set me back nearly £400

I mean say if you got a 6800 GS or 7800 GT instead of the X850xt, you could always get a second 6800 GS or 7800 GT later on when you were thinking of getting a new graphics card.
