Are you respected?

I think the lack of respect people have for even professional web designers stems from the fact that many of them havent yet grasped the true value of a good online presence. Many are not able to put a dollar value on the benefit of having one nor the cost of NOT having one. Many of them just jump on the 'website wagon' because everyone else in town is getting one, its not something they take particularly seriously unless their business is primarily/partially web-based. Yea sure, there are unprofessional web designers who have made it bad for the rest of us, but for the most part I think it has to do with ignorance on the part of some clients/potential clients.
