I am not sure if this is currently implemented as I rarely use the marketplace, however, at WebHostingTalk they have a feature that will not allow you to post more than one thread in 7 days in designated forums. Perhaps this could be implemented (if it isn't already), which would cut down on a lot of moderating work and wouldn't give people a chance to break that rule.

You could also give the sellers control by allowing tread starters to delete comments made by other users. Then the seller becomes the moderator of their own sale and is charged with the duty of "keeping it clean".

Robson I think what (tf) really needs to work on is fixing up some of the attitudes of the current members. Some (not to point fingers) are quite rude and seem to be destroying the friendly atmosphere with some of their comments. Every other thread I see somebody acting very disrespectful.

How can we expect the marketplace to succeed when these members go around projecting themselves so unprofessionally? Everybody is first to complain they only make $5/hr in the marketplace, but then hardly anybody presents themselves in a way that shows they deserve more.

A lot of the members are great. But some I feel ruin it for the rest of us.

I have about 5 members bookmarked, first time one steps out of line they're banned.

The main set of rules say one advertising post per 7 days, however the sticky in the marketplace says one per 5 days. You might want to edit that.

Looking forward to seeing TF continue to grow.

Would it be possible to have this "bookmarked list" of people available to see...maybe in a locked thread, so noone can reply. That way people could see if they are on that list, and adjust their attitudes accordingly.

It's kinda like being on waivers.. in hockey.. the NHL.. ah losing battle, most of you are football(soccer) fans here right?.. lol

Anyway, i'm not sure I like the idea of an open list, however i'm glad you've chosen to enforce the rules. Goodluck, and take a big red pen and scratch my name of your bookmarks .

Maybe not an open list, but perhaps theres a hack or mod, that would show you on your profile if you were "on a warning". That way peoples names would be kept private, but the individuals in question would know who they are...

A pm warning would do just the same with half the work
