Nah, I'm actually not impressed by Wave at all - the video & presentation looked amazing but when I actually get to use it, well, it's nothing "wowish".

Anyone got an wave invite to spare? I'd be willing to code a page or something if that helps.

Quentin123,

Social networks are quite important and useful tools. I think you need to try some; you will love it.

I have been able to make good friends via facebook, great business contacts via linkedin. For humanitarian causes, campaigning via facebook is very successful. For marketing, business campaigns ecademy is good (this does not mean linkedin is not; i just have not tried it for this purpose).

However google wave is a bit larger than the normal social networks. The wikipedia page of google wave says:

It is a web-based service, computing platform, and communications protocol designed to merge e-mail, instant messaging, wikis, and social networking.[3] It has a strong collaborative and real-time[4] focus supported by extensions that can provide, for example, robust spelling/grammar checking, automated translation between 40 languages,[2] and numerous other extensions.[
But it would be interesting to see how will Google Wave manage to break-even when:
  1. it will be facing some tough competition from Facebook and other social networks
  2. even facebook has not been able to generate much income from its highly popular application
