Get a Macbook, upgrade it to 2.0, 2 gigs of ram. Then get the DVI adapter, then upgrade to a bigger monitor

Fully recommend the XPS, i've never used a faster machine than mine. Macbooks are over rated pieces of crap, slow and have the poorest compatibility i have ever encountered. A rip off that you will spend most of your time trying to convince yourself is good.
As I've said countless times in many other threads, i sent my mac back after 4 days of having because it was just that bad. They are no better for designing at all, in fact i thought worse. Only get it if you are completely obsessed with your image of using a computer in public and want to look cool...because thats just about all they do well.

Truly someone thats trying to just protest the all cool thing, because I don't know about most people and I hate when they say this, I didn't buy a mac to look cool. Tell you the truth, I use my mac more in my house then I do in public. Second, Its all an option to say its a crap. The only reason you probably sent it back 4 days is because your impatient and ignorant, I have had mine for 2 months and still learning something new everyday.
Im not trying to steer this off topic, but I had to respond.

I sent it back after 4 days due to the fact that none of the software i currently owned worked on it, neither my Phone AND MP3 player were compatible on it and not to mention the screen on the macbook is terrible.
I still hold my word that the only thing they do better than a PC is look good, both GUI and aesthetically...but im not so sure on the GUI fact now with Vista.
Basically my main point is, if you have always used windows, stick with windows.

go for a Acer or an Apple, If you want to use it for design and graphic purposes, get a macbook (pro , bigger screen as macbook) because apple is known for their graphical power, and as you may know, EVERY design agency works with apple..
If you gonna use it for general use, typing, surfing internet, checking mails.. get an acer of 1500$, probably also a good one and does the job.

True, but if you are buying an XPS you will be getting something along the lines of a nVidia 512mb 7900GT, guarantee it will whoop the pants off any macbook of the same price.
