He applied to be an advisor, and staff had no objection, and put forward some good ideas, and this place needs moderators, so there's no 'odd' in that.

Firstly congrats to Lucas, honestly i hope you do a good job.
I'm afraid to me, its a little confusing though. He applied to be an advisor? Surely if your looking for some more, then you could make an application thread on here for people to put themselves forward?
I for one, could have put myself forward (no way, shape or form saying i'd be better than Lucas here).

It isn't a secret that TFL needs a little bit more moderation, and we haven't honestly looked at many people and said they're outstanding or contributing well, because honestly there probably could be 100+ people saying positive things towards TFL and do put some time and effort into reporting posts etc; some names would be haris, seb, yourself etc.. however we haven't properly looked at it and said who we think should be a moderator.
Lucas asked Zee if he could step in and help out, and no one seen any objections so I didn't see a problem adding him to staff. So, until I've spoken to Zee and we talk about getting some sort of moderation team in place and working in their own areas I don't see an issue adding him to staff, future promotions will come but right now I can honestly say I'm not fully in charge of this place and have little input of what changes but I would like to get some moderation teams put in place for certain areas, 10+ advisors I'd recommend, but since this isn't the suggestions area I'll let Lucas get on with being praised on his promotion.
I will say I'll speak to Zee this weekend and draw up where needs to be moderated and who we could ask to mod.
Thanks and congrats again Lucas.

Thanks for the honest response Jamie - I wasnt digging at anyone or anything, just trying to inspire some change.
That said I do apologise to Lucas, on behalf of myself and some of the other 'strange choice' commenters. You came in off your own back to try and help out, highly commendable and if we all took a leaf out of his book - it'd be a step in the right direction.

Congrats Lucas, looking forward to seeing you around.
I have to say though, it seems like names are being picked out of a tree here. Looking through Lucas' recent posts I can't find much advice at all, but a lot of him try to flog his own hositng. I can think of many other people who deserved this much more, in my opinion. Who's making these decisions?

2005 member, 2xx posts, can we at least get some active advisor's. At least I'm on the site daily. Pick me if you need someone. I do not understand somethings tfl does.

I was of this thinking to start with Conrad, I think we are pretty much in the same boat posting/activity wise.
But disregard the fact he hasnt many posts etc, he's put himself forward and is willing to help out (honestly, we really need more people like that). If and when he isnt doing his job, we may complain - but up until then, thank the brave soul for taking the role on

I would take on the job if asked, I think if this place is gonna clean up some roles need to be picked, and not given to the people that asked first. Just kinda shows there is no effort put into making a good staff, who ever asks becomes a staff..
