Old  How to write a proposal?

Hi, being totally new to the freelance market, I was wondering if anyone knows how to write a proposal for job offers. Being an illustrator and always doing the creative side, this is totally off base. Anyone with useful tips, suggestions or even websites or books I ould refer to would help tremendously!
Thanks and have a good day to all..........
Mel

The proposal would have to be tailored to each individual project. You could certainly cut/past some aspects but make the proposals personal.

Don't be a "yes" person. Don't offer the world when you may only be able to deliver 1/2 an acre.

Be polite, be very professional.

Here is the best article I have read on pitching for jobs:

Good luck!

A good portfolio certainly helps, friendly and professional approach, it's your chance to sell yourself so explain to the client what you can do for them and why your service is their best option

I am currently working on my website. I am trying to work it in fireworks, then taking it to dreamweaver and making the web pages. My earlier website was done in flash which was a piece of cake. This one is drinvg me up the wall. Not sure how to proceed when one page is done and have to link icons on that page to images with the same bg.

Ask that sort of stuff in the html/coding section Melissa (so we keep this thread on topic )

You'll get a lot of help there (even some by me if I can help)

You can google for sample proposals. Of course, you would only be able to use those as guidance. The other posters is correct in that the substance and style of your proposal is relative to the nature and scope of the project.
