there are no new ideas out, just better versions of the old ideas, I run a political debate forum, social chit chat forum (which the tecnical admin of) and an image hosting site. all being taken ideas.

Of course there are new ideas. But the new ones will be in smaller and smaller niches.
IE, a forum for image hosting website administrators.

SEO isn't? SEO is a much harder market imo because the companys have money to spend and the problem with SEO is that there is no definate way to get a good PR so people just stick to SitePoint or DP.
