You cannot product the same products in each.

Technically, the ability to edit some of the vectors hear-after in PS is lacking compaired to fireworks, however you can create most anything that Fireworks offers in PS(or PS's counterpart, Illustrator.). Fireworks on the other hand can not mimic most of the bitmap abilities that PS offers.

it should also be mentioned that PS is mainly targetted towards the Print Graphics audience and i believe Fireworks is more of a web graphics program.

I did not say the same product, what I said was the same type of websites can be created. Both programs can be used to create nice professional websites, which is what a lot of us here do. In the end it comes down to personal preferance.

I use both of them, but I found myself using PS a lot more. To me it has more options, and is easier to make high quality graphics. Thats me tho, not everyone will agree. I can see where Fireworks is better (the coding). But I normaly *try to* do the coding myself.

Too bad there's not a nice Fireworks Community somewhere. I know there's several PS ones. I own www.onfireworks.com but I don't know what to do with it, but if anyone has any ideas or if they'd like to do something with it, give me a holler.

Mabye a blog of Fireworks artists or something?

Why don't you throw up a forum and try to get it started?

I have always used Fireworks for web design. I deisnged my current website with it www.threevisual.com I aggree that its down to personal preference.

As for the Fireworks community I think that would be a great idea! We really need one of those

Because I'd like to do something more than just throw up a forum. What I was thinking, if there's quite a few designers here, what if we did like a collaborative blog of like 6 designers, something like sitepoint where we could publish articles/tutorials and have it linked to a forum that discusses it?

What do you guys want to do? Do you like the domain onfireworks.com?

EDIT: Something like this site I just found: http://www.phireworx.com/default.asp but maybe a bit more sleekish design, kinda like a cross between that and teamphotoshop, but for fireworks?

I'm not an amazing design, nor a coder, but I'd like to do something eventually if there's someone(s) who'd like to help.

Fireworks and PS are two different kinds of image editors. You can't compare them really. But Fireworks is great if you're just starting out. I used to use it.
