CSS for all design purposes. CSS allows more flexibility in design while tables are designed to display data in an ordered way.

CSS only, only used tables when requested by a client and it took me much longer to code..
Also i'm glad to not see the "css when possible", css can be used in any situation (except for expanding layouts with when all ending at the same point, at least untill cell, row and table vlaues in divs are fully supported).

Use wt seems necessary. I mean yeah dont overuse tables but theres nothing wrong in using tables when they're required.

Personally i feel there is far to much raving about tables vs tableless.
Agreed, CSS tableless designs are most likely more effective in 90% of circumstances.
But after all, isnt it what works that counts? You could have a good design, coded in tables and make millions out of it, and at the same time, have the neatest, tableless coding on a design, and make a bit fat $0.
To me, use what works, and what you are comfortable with. As long as you manage to optimize user experiences to the best of your ability, using which ever method; its all good.
If you use tables, go for it. If you prefer CSS tableless etc, go for it. If it works, it works.

Exactly, which is why tableless designs are usually better as they are more accessable and will reach a wider audience, wether that's people on old browsers or people with vision or hearing impairments. Granted, tables are a very quick way to build-up a website, but tableless coding will help you in the long-run.

The point is, CSS works, and, in most cases, better than tables

Once upon a time <table> married <font> and ran away together never to be seen.
