  Old  Becoming a 'legal' business?

Well, recently, I've been reading a lot on starting/running a business but havn't found the resources to help me with these questions yet. So I thought that I'd ask them here and see if any of you guys are familiar with it.

1. Would my company name need to be registered with the state in order to do business?

2. Would I need a permit of some sort to do Web design for clients?

3. Would registering as an LLC be the best idea? What other options are there?

4. If my company operates on the Web, would taxes and such be involved?

I have a few more but I'll let these be answered for me first

1. http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg...mId=1074408973
2. No, you should use contracts, and these would go down in the books, as long as you're paying tax everything is fine.
3. Define your solutions and services then you can decide this.
4. Yes, aslong as you make money tax is involved. I also advise against operating solely on the internet.

Thanks for the reply. A quick question, wouldn't I have to be 18 to get contracts and would that require lawyers?

I believe you can make contracts if a legal guardian signs it.

Yes have mommy or daddy sign all the contracts and have them go to court as well if it went that way.

I would say contact your lawyer and see what the best route is to go. Maybe just a DBA at first then move up from there if the taxes are eating at you. Do not hire anyone just a little FYI

I plan on writing up an article for TF this weekend dealing with underage youth wanting to venture into business. So keep an eye out for that.

Yeah, I'll be taking a look at that article. I'm 16, lol.

But wait... your 14.... hmm... ironic..

I do not quite find that ironic. He is underage, so he may have experience with starting a business when underage.

Yeah, I'm underage but I've never really ran a business. I've just ran quite a few "e/n" websites back in my day. You need to know how to manage everything... quite fun.
