Lewismalpas.com - Latest Creation
Hey,
Just wanted a review on a blog I made for my new portfolio due to me switching from boxedpixels to my real name.
Blog - Front page
Blog - Subpage
Any comments are welcome, please don't be afraid to be harsh, I am not after "good" etc I wan't comments, good or bad, which will help me improve and recognise demands in the market.
Kind Regards,
Lewis.

Looks good so far. I would make the header thing that says "welcome inside the mind of a creative designer" a bit more contrasting to the background. I would also play about with the comments on the subpage. Distinguish the name from the comment, and maybe have each comment in a separate block.
Cheers!

Lewis, one more thing: I very much like your color choices, and the simplistic style that you chose.

It looks nice, i'd probably lower the opacity of the wavey things in the header and also make the 'welcome inside...' text to white as well, or a lighter colour at least (pink, light purple maybe).
There is one thing that bothers me about it though, it's not pointed specifically at this layout but a number of blog layouts i've seen in the last few weeks, why are so many people using the same styled navigation? Same font for headings, same sized arial, it's all getting a bit boring and repetitive now
Edit: One other thing, i'd make your name all white rather than have it white and a lightshade of another colour. Is it grey at the bottom? Either way it doesn't go well with the redish colour.

Keep the nav, I like it. Nothing wrong with a simple and stylish nav.

I don't dislike it, i'm just stating the fact that it's been used in about 4 or 5 blog designs i've seen on here in the last couple of weeks, same two fonts, sizes, identical besides the bullet image.

I dig the background and layout, but the boxiness of the content area (and lack of marginal space) really kind of irks me away from true love with this thing. Seriously, its nice.
