  Old  Refferencing other websites?

Are you allowed to refference other websites.

Say I say
'Our prices are as low as $200.

Don't pay $999 from paperweb.com.au'

Or something long those lines?

I think that you can do that, don't hang me up on that though.
They use to do it in cell phone commercials... hmmm...

It depends sletts02, you cannot go around making things up and displaying information if it's inaccurate. That could get you into quite abit of trouble, that's called slander.

It depends where you are, I think I heard something about being able to go after the top competitor. That's here in the US, of course I have no idea on legal stuff but I do remember hearing that somewhere.

And of course as Robson said inaccurate information can get you into loads of trouble.

All information will be accurate and deformation is aimed at the other companies. Just stating that my prices are lower.

It's still a tricky situation, I think the wording would need to be changed. You can't really go around telling people not to do business with other companies, whether it's legal or not it's not ethically correct imo.

I would phrase it something like "Cheaper than all our competitors!" or something....don't point fingers and get yourself into trouble. Also, what if they lowered their prices? Then you're really in a mess.

On commercials they have the can of coke that you know is coke but they keep the name off and name it something else but you know what theyre referencing.

I'm not sure if you can accomplish this in static print but if you can, i think thats the best route.

The best thing you can do if you want to advertise a lower price is to not list any competitors, and just offer a guarantee that you'll meet any lower price someone finds. If you can't do that, then you shouldn't be advertising based on lower prices. Using a competitor's name just gives them free publicity, which of course you don't want, and then if someone's not satisfied with your work, where do you think they'll go?

I agree with that. That way the company cant say that you are directly targeting them.

This is completely legal as long as your statement is honest. In this example, if paperweb.com.au really charges $999, it's legal to say it.
